We designed a special, exclusive tartan just for Salem!
The Salem Tartan is available as a beautiful classic, deluxe full-size wool blanket, woven just for us.
- 69″x 62″ / 175cm x 157cm, 3"/ 7.5cm fringe
- Deluxe Merino Wool
- Wash in cold water and dry flat or dry clean
The design and colors are inspired by Salem's long and storied past, drawing inspiration from everything from Salem's maritime history, to the city's literary influences, to its Haunted Happenings celebrations.
Ocean Blue - representing our harbor and rich maritime history
Brick Red - to honor our Federalist architecture
Scarlet Red - as a nod to both our military and literary history
Brown/Black - to represent our Colonial architecture, best represented by The Witch House and The House of the Seven Gables
Orange - for Autumn in New England, Haunted Happenings, and our bustling Halloween season
The dates of 1626- the year of Salem's founding, and 1837- its incorporation as a city, are used as guides for the thread counts.
This tartan has been produced under license from the Scottish Register of Tartans using Merino and Lambswool from farms that adhere to The Responsible Wool Standard.
